Example: They was locked in a verbal duel.

Definition1: to give your opponents what they want

Example: By failing to condemn the march , she was appeasing left-wing elements in the party.

Definition2: to say or do something in order to make someone feel less angry

Example: Nothing could appease the crying child.

Definition1: someone who will receive money, property, or a title when another person dies

Example1: Hesketh was the heir to a grocery fortune.

Example2: Richard was now heir to the throne of the Angevin Empire.

Definition2: the next person to have a particular job or to continue someone's work or ideas
