Definition: knowledge or understanding of something

Example: I haven’t the faintest notion what you’re talking about.

 

l   shear /ʃɪr/

Definition: to remove a part of something by cutting or breaking it, or to be removed in this way 

Example: His airplane sheared off the top of tree.

 

l   speck/spek/

Definition: a very small spot or mark

Example: The maid cleaned the specks off the carpet.

 

l   despondent /dɪˈspɒndənt/

Definition: feeling or showing profound hopeless , dejection , discouragement

Example: She is so despondent that she doesn’t want to eat anything.

 

l   toothsome /ˈtuːθs(ə)m/

Definition:toothsome food looks, smells, or tastes good

Example: Those toothsome snacks make me hungry.
