Today is April 1 they call April Fools’ Day in western world. It is said that the day started in the 1500s when France changed its calendar to match the Roman calendar, so that the New Year was celebrated on January 1 instead of in spring. So anyone who didn’t know it and still celebrated the New Year in April looked fool and would be laughed.
But, in Taiwan, it is not some day or any day valuable to celebrate. Humors or some good-natured jokes carried out in right time and right place are good even if in daily life though, mean-spirited pranks are always obnoxious and unacceptable even if in so-called April Fools’ Day. Therefor I suggest ignore it and lead the day as usual days.
