姊姊跟我說 即使是現在

只要經過那天英語演講比賽場地時

她仍會感到緊張

由此可見 這對她是多麼大的挑戰

當老師告訴我她答應參加校內小四英語演講比賽時

我十分驚訝

個性謹慎 害羞 超容易緊張的她

才剛返台入學不久 就肯參加比賽?!!

或許是老師的鼓勵 也或許是她心中捨我其誰的自我定位

我確定過去兩年在澳洲每周報告的訓練

逐漸突破她的信心領域 給了她接受挑戰的勇氣

過程中 她總催著我和她一起準備

一起討論主題、寫出內容

然後看她一遍又一遍不厭其煩的演練

從生澀到熟練  從怯懦到自信~

我對她說:"在我心目中 你已經是第一名!"

當天參加比賽的只有八名

看的出來各個都相當緊張

不要說演講了

對我們來說 用英文聊天都要勇氣

有些人是上台說個故事

也有些人忘詞 便拿稿照念

姊姊的表現雖因緊張 遠不如在家演練時的穩健

但也順暢的將內容講完

表現出眾!

比賽共取三名優勝 但不排名次

姐姐是其中之一

我很欣賞學校這種作法

語言是用來溝通表達 不是來比較的

比賽目的是提供孩子機會學習與觀摩

並透過頒獎鼓勵孩子的用心參與

不需要計較名次

聽她簡單、真誠且充滿情感的內容

我在台下眼眶泛紅~

My school life in australia.

Hello everyone  i am Jessie Cheng.Today I am going to talk about my school life in australia.

My family and i have been to australia for two years.t

That was  unforgettable time to me ,especially the school life.

In the first year i attend a new arrival program in Gillis st primary school.this program is for people who have english as a second language,there it’s like a little united nation.All my classmates come from a different country for example Brazil,Russia,China,Africa,korea、japan and so on.I had a very good teacher miss mary .she built up my english ability in a happy way.

In the second year I went to a mainstream class in sturt street community school. I started to study with the local students, It was hard to catch up but eventually I did it .

There is some difference between  taiwan school life and Australia school life,everyday we go to school at 8:30 and ends at 3:30,we have snack time and lunchtime but no afternoon nap. there mum always have to prepare lunch for me not like here we have yummy lunch that the school prepare for us. there was only a little homework there. we only have to prepare sharing once a week . the sharing topic is always about what we are learning about.

The class always goes on excursion.we went to different places like fire station,museum,farm and orchestra.even cemetery can be our classroom. this kind of learning is very interesting.

At the end of this two year, I came back. I was very worried that I would not be able to catch up in taiwan school but I am blessed that I have  good teachers and a good school. so that I can get use to school well now.

However it’s difficult for me to get use to so many different school but when I look back in the past I see some things that I have learned. mum always remind me to be grateful that I have good teachers, to be kind to my friends and to remember the  purpose for learning. I wish I could always learn happily.
