Fils de chien(中文意思是犬子)是他唯一出版的作品。

L'homme Qui Marche is a film inspired by Vladimir Slepian (1930-1998), a russian writer of the French language. He is the author of Fils de chien(son of the dog), an single edition published by Minuit. I would see this film as a tribute to Vladimir Splepian, but the kind of life he had experienced reflects on the cultural aspect in many russian emigrants, especially russian refugees. The protagonist of the film is an emigrated writer from Russia. He crossed Siberia on foot. He is a man with a dark face like a bird of prey. He has an incorruptible mind against the snobberies. He refuses any compromise and any contact with the order of the bourgeois, even to the very last minute of his life. He dies as homeless on a busy street in front of Les Deux Magot.

Any art using the material of the outsider(l'étranger)would not only present one single event or one specific individual. The more appealing aspect is the cultural background. Taking this film, L'homme Qui Marche, as an example, the protagonist is the sketch of Vladimir Splepian, and a culmination of this kind of characters could lead to conclude the life of russian expatriates, even though each experience could be different in detail. If we include all expatiates(not only russians) into this category, any individual transitting from one society to another could be interesting material for art creation. In searching for the inner world of an individual, when one changes his views of outside world, even in cutting the connection with the outside world to become a total stranger from the world, one could create masterpieces. Camus' and Sartre's works are the examples.
