１９８３年１０月　美國搖滾女王佩特班納塔（Pat Benatar）推出演唱會專輯〔Live From Earth〕

拿下美國榜＃１３（英國＃７０）　再度成為百萬白金唱片
大碟收錄了兩首錄音室作品
〔Love Is A Battlefield／愛情如戰場〕是其中一首　也是首支單曲

這是一首節奏相當急速　幾乎有著舞曲節拍的流行搖滾
在佩特那音域高亢　沙啞有力的嗓音演繹下　顯得相當迷人

佩特先前的作品以強悍著名

這回則經過一些細微的修飾　流行味較濃
〔Love Is A Battlefield〕在美國流行榜得到＃５　主流搖滾榜冠軍　銷售逾１００萬
是佩特成績最好的單曲
隔年並讓她連續４年得到葛萊美最佳搖滾女歌手獎

這也是佩特國際市場表現最成功的單曲　拿下澳洲５週冠軍　荷蘭冠軍　英國＃１７

由於單曲的成功　〔Live From Earth〕也登上澳大利亞專輯榜亞軍

成為佩特當地最成功的大碟

〔Love Is A Battlefield〕的MV拍得也相當精彩
它將美國８０年代初的社會現象與４０年代的歌舞片結合起來
內容描述一個與父親爭吵而離家出走的少女
孤身來到大城市　因為生活所迫墮入風塵　成為陪酒舞女
一日　某個客人騷擾派特的同事
她挺身而出　跟那個看起來有點像義大利流氓的男人周旋
結果其她舞女全部走上前來　要讓男人知道她們不是好欺負的
MV最精彩的部分從這裡開始
因為 佩特跟同事像歌舞片的演員一樣
突然"神明附身" 跳起大隊舞來　把那個客人嚇得怔在一旁
由於人多勢眾　他也不敢怎麼樣
後來這惡霸又靠近佩特　本想用酒潑她　但卻被佩特搶先拿到杯子　濺了他一臉
然後佩特繼續和同事繼續跳出舞廳　來到一處空地
平常總是受客人氣的舞女非常感謝派特為她們出了一口氣
此時已是黎明　她向同事道別後　便往日出之處的晨曦走去
我想這應該是暗喻佩特決心要脫離風塵　回老家去了

 

當時麥可傑克森（Michael Jackson）〔Thriller〕專輯系列MV中舞蹈大受歡迎　引起模仿風潮

〔Love Is A Battlefield〕也採用這項流行
從MV可以看出美國８０年代初的次文化風尚
佩特一出場就穿著一件胸口印著三個中文字<天羅部>的T-Shirt(這是什麼意思？)
她所穿的某些服飾風格在８０年代中期台灣還看的到
不過我比較好奇的是當時的美國舞女是不是流行吉普賽風（或是乞丐風？）
怎麼有些人的服裝都剪剪裁裁的　看起來好像應召女郎一樣
Anyway, 是MTV早期相當受歡迎的經典之一在VHI票選的史上１００支最偉大的音樂錄影帶名列其中
這支音樂錄影帶蠻有創意的
而一個走主流搖滾樂風的女歌手在MV跳舞更是少見（至少８０年代以前是如此）
