An old man was critically ill. Feeling that death was near, he called his lawyer. "I want to become a Democrat. Get me a change of registration form."

一名老翁病入膏肓。他自知不久於人世，打電話告訴律師：「我要當民主黨人，幫我拿一份換黨申請表。」

Two days later, the old man got his registration changed. The lawyer asked, "Why you wanted to become a Democrat so badly before you died ?"

兩天後，老翁的政黨變更手續完成。律師問他：「你為什麼迫切想在死前換成民主黨？」

In a faint whisper, as he breathed his last, the old man said: "One less Democrat".

老翁斷氣之前，有氣無力的回答：「少一個民主黨人。」
