My father used to tell me that when he was a young boy that once the army of Gen Feng Yuxiang(馮玉祥) had deeply impressed him as the days they stationed in my hometown.  The army was well displined and trained; according to my father that every soldier could do the swing on horizontal bar and swiftly roll over the ground with his machete on hand.  The army was later reconstructed as 29th Army , after Feng had lost power, and was dispatched to station in Hebei Province subsequent to 918, 1931. 

On 7th of July, 1937, 29th Army fired the first bullet to start the tough and as long as eight years resistence against Jap invasion.  Please review the story in following report.  (I have always been thinking if 29th Army were equipped with cannons, tanks, and planes as Jap did, they could win the battle without much ado.)

PS The commander of the regiment first fought against Jap was Gen Ji Xinwen(吉星文團長), who later was killed in action of the civil war on 23rd day of August, 1958 at Kimen.  What the hell!
