Weekly gathering on November 21, 2016

Yvonne hosted the gathering with the topic one-day tour and 6 members gave their presentations.

Yvonne explained why she chose the one-day tour topic. And played the promotion video of Tourist Bureau: Taiwan, the heart of Asia.

Heaven: one-day tour at台大校園, 公館夜市, and 寶藏巖

She pointed out the reasons why she picked these sites and listed the top 10 must-see at NTU campus such as entrance gate, Fu Garden, Drunken Moon Lake, cycling on the 600-meter Palm Avenue, etc.

Olga: half-day tour at象山

She introduced this site by listing its drawbacks. It appeared she was against this area, which gave uslots of fun.

Little Jenny: one-month tour in New Zealand

She will travel to New Zealand this week and stay for one month. Her husband will drive a camper van. Since they will not join a guided tour, they should get prepared a lot to ensure a safe and pleasant trip.

Andy: one-day tour at社子大橋，社子島，迪化街

First, he rode a U-Bike to the bridge - a perfect observation deck and then cycled around the island to watch bird, mangrove, and mudskipper, etc. At永樂市場, he returned the U-Bike and took a stroll at this area to enjoy food and appreciate the scenery of the old buildings.

Tammy: half-day tour at興福寮花卉綜合農場

At this garden, you could see many flowers, insects and birds. For more information, here is its websitewww.vngarden.com.tw. Especially, she mentioned a very beautiful flower named Dancing Girl although it sounded unreal.

Rosie: 陽明山

She briefed its history and explained how the original name, Grass Mountain, came from. In addition,she recommended a restaurant at菁山路.

Tom announced 3 items:

1. Tour guide activities on Nov-25 (Andy), and Nov-26 (Olga & Sherry).

2. Outing on Dec-5: 竹子湖蓬萊米原種田故事館. Details would be posted on Line group.

3. No Christmas carol activities this year because of timing. But we would sing the song “you raise me up” in this semester. The copy of its lyrics and music was passed to members for practice.
