This week Alfonso was the host to elaborate on Puji Temple普濟寺.

Before the main presentation, some housekeeping items were processed as follows.

First, Yvonne briefed what she would like to do for the next class on Nov-21 and dispatched some Taipei tourist materials to members for reference.

Second, Tom reported some items.

1.    Disclosure of club’s financial data

2.    Welcome for 2 new members: Edward Chang and Esther Tang

3.    To ensure a smooth transition, the president election was held earlier than that specified in the article 5 of AOI. With only one nomination, Andy was elected as president effective next February. Finally Tom felt relieved after an 8-year term.

4.    Proposal for gift to the docent who provided explanation service to our club.

Third, Michelle continued the Jan-16 outing discussion. Due to no more suggestion, the vote took place and the hiking from Tamsui MRT station to Cloud Gate Theater was selected.

Today’s main theme - Puji Temple

Alfonso collected lots of data and photos regarding the Japanese temple structure. Especially for Puji Temple photos, he marked the name for each structure details, so members could easily understand what they were. And a graceful poem was mentioned for the legend of the plum pattern at ghost tile (鬼瓦), “When the east wind blows, let it send your fragrance. Oh plum blossoms, although your master is gone, do not forget the spring.”
