On a sunny Sunday morning, I went hiking Mt. Miantian. I took the route of Erziping > Xiantian Pond > Mt. Xiantian > Mt. Miantian > Erziping.

On arriving the Erziping Park the beautiful bell-shape volcanic mountain, Mt. Miantian, appeared.

The water lilies in the pond of Erziping Park were in full bloom. Fresh yellow pollens sitting in the light purple petals, round leaves and reflection floating on crystal water, the sunlight interlaced naturally with the colors and shades.

There is a half dried up creek on the way to the Xiantian Pond. Still water and mossy stones, motionless leaves and branches, it is like a world veiled in tranquil and peaceful ambience.

Beside the creek is a ruin of ancient cowshed. Derelict stone walls and pillars witness the elapsed time of hundreds years.

Xiantian Pond is a volcanic crater. Water in the pond appears only in drenching rain and lasts just a few days. Most time it is a stretch of tender grassland.

From Xiantian Pond up to Mt. Xiantian is a steep stone stair trail. Standing on the top of Mt. Xiantian the bell-shape Mt. Miantian was in front of me.

Opposite to the leafy Mt. Miantian is the treeless Mt. Xiantian. I bathed in the warm autumn sunshine on the descent of Mt. Xiantian, and breathed cool fresh air of early fall on the ascent of Mt. Miantian.

The scenery on the top of Mt. Miantian is magnificent. The view extends to the junction of sky line and sea horizon.
