是驚喜也是警訊！美國麻薩諸塞州新英格蘭水族館日前宣布，被認為在大西洋絕跡200多年的灰鯨，再度現蹤該州南部海域，推測是氣候變遷令這美妙生物再度暢遊大西洋。

據《NBC》報導，水族館透過新聞稿表示，海洋館航測隊上週五在南塔克特以南30英里（約48公里）處，發現這頭浮出水面並疑似正在進食的極罕見嬌客，並在海域上空跟拍約45分鐘。 館方表示，身體特徵為沒有背鰭，有斑點、背駝峰以及明顯背脊，皮膚呈灰色和白色的灰鯨，自18世紀後有長達200多年消失在大西洋，但在北太平洋非常普遍。

因此這頭灰鯨的出現，令研究人員驚呼「我的大腦嘗試處理眼前所見，這頭動物不應該存在於這個海域」，但最後「我們笑了，這太瘋狂和令人興奮—看到1種幾百年前消失在大西洋的動物」！

但館方也指，灰鯨重新出現在大西洋很可能與氣候變遷有關，且過去15年已有5次在大西洋、地中海目擊到灰鯨出現。過去有部分原因因濫捕消失的灰鯨，因為氣候變遷再次出現，難免令人百感交集。

此外，氣候變遷或許讓灰鯨重返大西洋，卻也多次造成灰鯨迷航，法國南部2021年出現1頭從太平洋迷航到地中海的灰鯨，震驚當時專家，專家們推測當年北極海提早融化，可能使灰鯨誤入大西洋再進入地中海。
