孝順，重在「順親」，順父母親的意思。

The most precious of filial piety is obedience.

換個角度說，如果爸爸、媽媽叫你們去殺人放火，你們去不去？當然不行囉！

However, if your parents ask you to kill or commit arson, would you

do it?

Of course not!

要記住「順其親有道」，你要順從父母親，父母親講的有道理，合乎道的事，我們順從他。

Remember to “be obedient according to the Tao.”

Only do what you are asked to do on the premise of Tao.

父母親說：你要節儉一點，不要用錢太浪費。這是好的事情，要順親。

For example, if your parents ask you to be frugal and waste no money.

It is a deed conforming to Tao, so you should follow.

所以，孝順家裡的父母，你要順親、侍親，要和顏悅色。

More than that, you should do it with a peaceful and happy look.
