Fair,
I am confused by the following phrase: “to defend Taiwanese”.
Do you mean “Taiwanese attacks you so that you defended yourself or You helped Taiwanese to defend Chinese”?
I do not understand “no ROC or Taiwan” .
Do you mean that Taiwan will have new government or Taiwan island will disappear from earth?
It is very hard to understand what you want to say.
The first step of improving writing is to read your own writing first and think yourself as a reader.
For example, You do not like someone. Consider yourself as that person, then read your own writing and see whether it makes sense to yourself. If it does, then the article may be more clear and easy to understand.
You need to admit your own mistake and do not blame on your own mistake to other people.
If you do not admit your own mistake, then Anger will eat yourself up, and people will see who you are.
Holding so much grudge will block your own vision and feeling.

I Spent more than 22 years in Taiwan. 20years75day in ROC services to defend
Taiwanese from PROC foreseeable invasion. Most of my  co-service men, if
not all,are those veteran still remain in Taiwan living in poor life. You,
those native born, have the luxury pitied them & considered their present condition
being what they deserved. That reminds me of the movie I saw many time
"Unforgiven" which described very well to you people.
I think that Chiang made big mistakes by defending Taiwan island and Qimon
by sacrificing those lives from Communist ruling. Otherwise, there would be no ROC
or Taiwan.  You guys would become royal Chinese citizen and no one would not
dare saying a word about TI.  Save your attack and I am glad and proud of my
past military services particularly the 823. (Modified version)

Luccent
You sounded "having not read some of the modern ROC. History."
As for your English, reading Andy's commentary would help you too.
I believe that you know Andy of CBS network. There is lots to learn from
him even if you are young American.  You sounded like my American
friends Alfie. Have U finished college education and study
Chinese in Taiwan or U.S.? Or you would not be able to comprehend
those Chinese language. Following are my reply to your questions:
1.I am confused by the following phrase: “to defend Taiwanese”.
defend v.t. to defend Taiwanese from Communist invasion.
2.I do not understand “no ROC or Taiwan"
If Generalissimo just gave it up and let Communist take over,
would Republic of China still exist? We American were a "paper tiger"
as former enemy Vietnam's put it.
Do you think the American would win the Korean War?
3."Do you mean that Taiwan will have new government or Taiwan island
   will disappear from earth?"
It would be called Taiwan Province, People's Republic of China. That
would be 37th Province of PROC. It would not disappear from earth
but it would be remained in the world map as a small province of PROC.
4."It is very hard to understand what you want to say.
The first step of improving writing is to read your own writing first and
  think yourself as a reader."
Sorry, just can not catch up with your mind & I did not think writing
blog responses was a serious English composition.
5."You need to admit your own mistake and do not blame on your own
mistake to other people. f you do not admit your own mistake,
then Anger will eat yourself up, and people will see who you are."
You are damn right about that with my age. There is nothing I can do
about it but I will try.
6."Holding so much grudge will block your own vision and feeling. "
Well said. I am trying to improve it

Luccent,
Your response:
fair,
Who are you? I saw that you live in US and a US citizen. Thank you for the offer. I have a lot of Chinese book and material to study. The reporter from current Taiwan government is contradict what I understand. I hardly see you provide other party problem. As a reporter, I cannot report a bias new. If I do that, I will lose my job.......

1. I do not intend to hide my identity. "Fair" is not registered blog name. Some
one wanted to use it, so be it. There is no legal provision to forbid that
practice of copying other blogger name My blogging is based on reality. I
already revealed my real identity.

2. I am proud of your efforts in studying Chinese. Confucius 4 books is more
profound in learning Chinese culture. Most of Chinese intellectual from
Singapore Taiwan and mainland China have been influenced by Confucius teaching.

3."The reporter from current Taiwan government is contradict what I understand."
That is unfortunate and unfair statement ROC government has no part to play in
controlling reporter. People still enjoy the freedom of speech like that in U.S.
The reporter from CCN, paid by the government, might side with current
administration same as CSB'e era. By the same token, you can find that each
American News network has their preference but they all are trying to
be fair in news reporting.

3." As a reporter, I cannot report a bias new. If I do that, I will lose my job"
I command your statement. Carry on with your efforts and good work.

....."Prosecutors believe Chen may have illegally amassed tens of millions of dollars during his years in power and say they have enough evidence to hold him while they prepare their case. Taiwanese law permits the incarceration of suspects for up to four months without indictment to prevent them from colluding with alleged conspirators....."
