Report said semi-official Straits Exchange Foundation intended to apply WeChat services within Taiwan for better communicating each other between the islanders working or studying in Mainland and their families in Taiwan. (I am not sure, perhaps that Japanese LINE is not allowed operating in China's Mainland.) The proposal had been turned down by the chairwoman of "Committe of Mainland Affairs", for the users in Taiwan can only select "District of Taiwan" as their residence when applying the services. Ms. Zhang, the chairwoman, said doing so will be against the priniple of equality and thus degrade Taiwan.
Take it or leave it, Ms. Zhang. What do you expect a Mainland's own private business to call their users' place of residence in Taiwan? Don't just court a rebuff, and you have to know China's Mainland can make all international institutions, official or non-official, call the island as Province of Taiwan, China if she is willing to do so.
