The other day I read from the head line in front page of UDN that, from classified files disclosed, the most worrisome thing to U.S. when she established formal dimplomatic relationship with China in 1979 had been Taiwan Independence. Obviously, if Taiwan dared to declare so, the U.S. would have confronted head-to-head with China, which was the last thing she wanted to do. Now that if the involvement into Taiwan Independence was the most dreadful thing for the U.S. trying to avoid decades ago, how come she would be willing (and able) to sacrifice her national interest to challenge the inexorable rising China nowaday and in the future. So get real, islanders. Forsake that silly notion; otherwise, someday your master will forsake you, the miserable underling, like throwing away a pair of worn-out shoes.
