梁國楊氏子九歲，甚聰惠。孔君平詣其父，父不在，乃呼兒出。為設果，果有楊梅。孔指以示兒曰：“此是君家果。”兒應聲答曰：“未聞孔雀是夫子家禽。”     

A nine-year-old boy of the Yang family in the country of Liang was very clever. One day, Kung Junping paid a visit to Yang, but the latter was not home. So the boy came out as the host and provided a plate of fruits, including plums, to Kung. Kung pointed at the plums and said, "These are the fruit of your family." The Yang boy responded instantly, "I have never heard that the peacock is a bird of your family, Sir."
