Washington Post said the other day that the US commander-in-chief of India-Pacific claimed once China "invades" Taiwan, he will make the strait an "unmanned landscape." Then I realized what had been in his mind. He intended to dispatch a myriad of drones to annihilate the PLA and make the Taiwan Strait a scene of hell without any fatalities of the US army. What a wishful thinking it is! Whether in quantity or quality, Chinas drones are better than the US; according to some reports, some spare parts of the US drones are even made in China. More importantly, his speech shows the US is intimidated by the consequences in the first place: the cost of American lives. So, the US had lost its momentum before the war. But I think the DPP administration must be excited upon hearing such a speech and hasten to propagate it to the brainless islanders. Ha! |
