Eventually, the Boston Celtics failed to make history. Never before, in over 150 opportunities, has a team overcome a deficit of 0-3 to come from behind and win a playoff series. They almost did, especially when they won three games in a row against the Miami Heat to evade elimination, including that incredible win by a 0.1-second tip-in in game six. Now the conditions have tilted the balance in favor of them in game seven this morning at their home court.
But they were trounced by Miami this morning, and they did not make history. Now the Miami Heat have advanced to the final to continue their miracle trip as an eight-seeded underdog. They will meet the Denver Nuggets, which is my favorite team partly because my son is a resident of the Denver area.
