A high-rated Mainland TV drama, "掃黒風暴" is televised now online. I noticed that some critics had given the drama much-hyped comments, saying it starkly exposes the very dark side of the underworld in Mainland China without concealment  .

You know, in the early stage of New China after 1949, the underworld, drugs, prostitution, and bandits had been virtually eradicated under CCP rule.  But since "Reform and Open", the ashes rekindled in the richer and richer China Mainland.  I believe the drama may be one of the concomitants along with the recent wealth redistribution movement, because the underworld always acts as one of the channels for the laundry of unlawful money.  

I have not watched the drama yet, but I recommended it to my wife earlier and she has been watching every episode with rapt attention.  So, I think it may be likewise recommendable to you guys.

PS The local court of Nanchang, Jiangxi Province sentenced a woman criminal suspect Lao Rongzhi(勞榮枝) to death today.  Lao and her partner and boyfriend Fa Ziyin(法子英) were responsible for nearly ten lives.  They were serial killers that Lao used her beauty to allure victims to the places where Fa was waiting for the preys.  Then the Bonnie and Clyde of Chinese version kidnapped the prey, extorted the ransom, and then killed the victims without mercy.  Fa was arrested some twenty years ago and soon was executed, but Lao run away until she was caught last year.
