That Scraps Song acquitted himself "well" in APEC; that was what he said after representing Cai administration to the "international" gala second year in a row. Hed got a chance of shaking hands with Trump for three seconds, and got a photo opportunity with Trump, alone, though some people questioned the photo is a synthesized one. Song also extolled Chinas Mainland acted like an "elder brother" to Taiwan. I guess what he was trying to say was to imply that Taiwan is the "younger brother" to Mainland, and implies both sides of the strait are in brotherly equality, if his "theory" is tenable. I am sorry, but I have to say his implication just doesnt hold water. I think Chinas Mainland will give Taiwan brotherly love for sure, provided that Taiwan repents itself in time. (but never a brotherly political status). Taiwan has to make it quick; otherwise, it will face a tragic situation when such a brotherly love becomes no longer cordial any more. P.S. I would like to invite you to read "特朗普亞洲行台灣有何反應?不如回憶艾森豪威爾訪台" at: http://www.guancha.cn/yanmo/2017_11_13_434585_2.shtml. FYI, 57 years ago when Eisenhower visited Taiwan, I was the one among a mutitude of people who were standing on the curbsides to welcome him. Have I told you before that there was a "艾氏宗親會" claimed Eisenhower is one of the most brilliant next-of-kins? So funny! |
