outstanding---凸出的，顯著的，傑出的，重要的。

          它是形容因其優秀素質或激發力而有不同凡響或特別恰當的事物。它是表示「優秀的素質」時最常用的字， 如：an outstanding writer of the 19th century , 它也可以提示「一種與周圍環境迴然不同的特色」.

          例句：She is an outstanding actress. 她是個傑出的演員。

 exceptional---例外的，異常的，特別的。

          它是指「異於尋常、不在預期中的，或是絕不凡庸的東西，異乎常例的事物」。它也可以用作恭維或是批評語。如：

          He treated his employees with an exceptional kindness. ; He showed an exceptional disregard for detail in his work .

這三個字基本上意義都有優秀的意義在，excellent和outstanding常常互用，但exceptional就有不太一樣的意味，我想多多找出它們的例句來看，是體會它們不同之處最好的方。
