No. 8, Xiangyang Rd.,, Zhong Zheng District, Taipei, Taiwan Tel: +886 (2) 2370-9988 Time of stay:June, 2011 We got off from the airport shuttle at Taipei Main Station. It felt like a long way with our luggage. But after we knew the directions, it was not that far after all. Look is located on the edge of the Taipei Station business circle, so it enjoys the convenience yet without too much noise. If you take the MRT, the NTU Hospital Station is the closest. But getting off at the Taipei Main Station would take you through more fun along the way. The room was quite big compared to other hotels of the same class. We made reservation through a travel agency and we thought we would get the smallest Elite Room. But judging from the size, we probably got the larger Standard Room instead. The whole building was quite new, and everything in the room was tidy and neat. We liked the layout. At the door there’s a closet and luggage area, and if you have more luggage, there’s plenty of space. It was quite spacious and comfy, compared with other choices from similar hotels. But the shower and toilet were in two separate cubicals. If you want to do two things at the same time, unless you go with your spouse, it would be inconvenient and embarrassing. There were adult movie channels on TV, so parents should take heed. Actually it was not surprising to see adult movies on TV, because they posted on their website the rate of a “2-hour stay”. We happened to witness a couple checking out after a “2-hour stay”. It was weird because we felt like prying into other people’s business. A breakfast buffet was included in the stay. The food was ok but not impressive. They set up a computer by the front desk for guests. Though it was convenient, everyone passing through the lobby could see what the computer user was doing. There was no privacy at all. The hotel offered hand-made soaps as rewards for guests who did not require sheet-changing every day. It was both environmental and cost-saving. The front desk staff was competent and friendly, but could not provide much useful travel information on Taipei. Their professional knowledge should be enhanced. |
