去年4月16日,蔡英文的文章“President of Taiwan: How My Country Prevented a Major Outbreak of COVID-19” (https://time.com/collection/finding-hope-coronavirus-pandemic/5820596/taiwan-coronavirus-lessons/) 刊於時代雜誌,不僅稱台灣有效地阻絕新冠於邊境 (Taiwan has effectively managed the containment of the corona-virus within our borders),還美言台灣有世界級的醫療系統、堅強的研發能力、還有透明的資訊積極地與公眾及國際機構分享 (Taiwan has one of the world’s top health care systems, strong research capabilities and transparent information that we actively share with both the public and international bodies)。
時隔一年後,時代雜誌於5月21日標題為“How a False Sense of Security, and a Little Secret Tea, Broke Down Taiwans COVID-19 Defenses” (https://time.com/6050316/taiwan-covid-19-outbreak-tea/) 的報導,劈頭就稱區區茶室就瓦解這世界上最吹牛的新冠防疫 (All it took to break down the world’s most vaunted COVID-19 defense was a little secret tea)。
BBC今日 (5月28日) 的一篇報導 “Taiwan must choose between virus and politics” (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-57246914) ,稱台灣領導人的兩難:疫情比政治更重要嗎?(is the virus more important than politics),而台灣須在新冠與政治之間做抉擇。 但看來執政者早已選擇,否則台灣疫情如今險峻的情形下,執政者對彼岸仍酸言冷語依舊。可是若用政治來防疫,民眾能明白水能載舟、亦能覆舟的道理? |
