The Wish of Seeds Hsu ChiCheng
I am a mature seed
Which has ever taken salty and bitter blood and sweat as honey
In the furnace of loneliness
I am on the burning, smelting, austerities practicing …
Let the wind be my messenger, and
The birds, and of course
I myself
To anywhere including the end of the earth …
In spite of my unprepossessing appearance
In spite of my smallness
In spite of my estrangement from dancing and drawing bees & butterflies
A hot pepper is hot, no matter how small it is!
Poverty can turn into wealth
A desert can turn into an oasis
Of this, I am confident
I hope the blossom in your heart will blossom forever!

What Mrs. Margaret Ann Waddicor said( World of Poets 2013/11/25):
Dear Hsu, Please change your sweat to sweet as honey, sweat is under the amrs!
I like the sentiments in this poem, it fits our society now, to take a second look at the little things, we are so taken up with all the big things of life.
In the last line you repeat blossom, it would be better to say... " I hope the blossom in your heart will bloom forever."
I always enjoy your mind through your words, thank you. Love Margaret Ann |
