Don’t run away with the idea that only poets compose poetry

Poetry lies in the great nature

Out of human power

True poetry lies in the great nature

The so-called great poets never write poetry

They only produce something in private

The nightingale is a poem until Keats writes it in his poem

The skylark is a poem until Shelley writes it in his poem

Let alone other things

Many so-called distinguished poets through all ages

Make show at every turn

To gather many birds of the same feather

By forming a group, uniting in a clique, and exchanging favors or praises

Or by organizing large or small activities

They give it a huge build-up, so as to gain fame in poetry by devious means

They set up various –isms, while declaring manifestoes

From so-called romanticism and realist school

To modernist school, abstract poetry, pattern poetry, and Dadaism

Even post-modernism, “private parts” writing, and playing with poetry, etc.

They would stop at nothing

But can those poems be called poetry?

Nothing but bluffing matters

It so happens that readers can make a judicious choice

They cast them aside like an old shoe

And such poets only appeal to a niche audience

Let’s go. Let’s go listening to poetry declamation

Let’s go listening to poetry declamation by birds, crickets, katydids, and cicadas

If you are a real lover of poems

Even silence is a real poem

They are poets in a real sense

They can declaim the most beautiful and melodious poems to us

What they are declaiming is real poetry

走！我們聽吟詩去

別以為只有那些所謂詩人寫的才是詩

詩是存在大自然裡的

不是人力所能製造的

在大自然裡的才是真正的詩

那些所謂大詩人所寫的不是詩

是他們自己私下製造出來的

夜鶯本來是詩被濟慈一寫便不是了

雲雀本來是詩被雪萊一寫便不是了

至如其他，就更不用說了

歷來有許多所謂的詩人

動輒以作秀為能事

集結許多臭味相投者

呼朋引伴，結黨組派，相互吹捧

或辦什麼大小活動

刻意造勢，以不正當手法博取詩名

標舉什麼主義，發佈宣言

從什麼浪漫主義、寫實派

到什麼現代派、抽象詩、圖象詩、達達派

甚至後現代主義、下半身書寫、玩詩等等

無所不用其極

其實那些能稱為詩嗎？

那只是用以借勢唬人的玩意兒

也正好，讀者頗有明智決擇

把他們棄之如敝履

以致他們成了小眾

走！我們聽吟詩去

我們到大自然聽真正的詩人吟詩去

去聽那些田野、山脈、大海、河流吟詩

去聽那些鳥雀、蟋蟀、紡織娘、蟬吟詩

去聽那些風、雨、雲、霧、冰、雹吟詩

去聽那些游魚、草木、雞、犬、牛、羊吟詩

只要你是真正的愛詩人

甚至靜寂無聲也是詩

他們才是真正的詩人

他們會吟唱最優美悅耳的詩給我們聽

他們吟唱的才是真正的詩
