| Hi, NiuNiu, I know you are tired, and sleepy, so you go to bed very early, 5:00 pm....it is "very" early. You are not happy because you lost the game, let me tell you, "the first place" is only for "one", so please be used to. I finally decide to tell you my "secret" now. Sometimes you complaint to me, "oh, yes, yes, I know, you are always on the first honour when you were a kid...." You know what, it is really hard for me to "not get the first prize" for a lot of things. It is not only because I "was" smart, but also lots of my teachers like me very much. I remembered when I was grade three, I got very very sick, could not go to school for one month, and I got the first prize, the exam only few days later I went back to school. I knew that my mark was little less than a boy, but my teacher announced to the whole class that who got the first prize must be very good for many stuffs. Obviously, my writing, drawing, articles ...were much better than that boy, but somehow, I felt that the teacher was kind of cheating, and I was not happy to accept the prize though the boy did not care about it. Since then, I always doubt, "am I really better than others?" "do I deserve the first prize?" So it is not important for me to get the first prize anymore, and sometimes, I hated to be the best one, because I found that some girls won't play with me, they thought I was better than them. I became very lonely, and unhappy, I had no true friends until I met your huei mommy. We had the same interesting things to share with,and we care each other so much. And then, our math were at the same "bad" level. But now, she even teaches math at the university in US. It is interesting, that is why I told you maybe you will be a master of math someday. It is not fairy tale, it is extra and extra hard working that your huei mommy did a lot to change her karma. You can do it, too. Now you know I was not happy because I was the best, you won't believe it, right? I was the best in my class or even my school, but I "am" not the best one anymore, and I believe who did not get the first prizes at my class or my school, they would have the better life than me. Do you still think the first place is so important for you? I do not like you care it too much. It will go away someday anyway. I will be more happy to hear you say,"you are the best mom in the whole world." even I knew that you exaggerated a lot for this best title. sleep tight~ Love~ mom |
