Here is your revised text with grammar corrections and the simplified Chinese converted into traditional Chinese:
Hello everyone,
Welcome to Lets Talk in English.
My name is Garrett. Thanks for joining us.
And my name is Esther. Today,
We have a talk about a lesson. In these lessons,
We talk about a problem you might face in life,
and we learn about it through a story. Now,
Today’s story has the theme: I can help.
I can help if you like to help others,
then you want to make their life easier.
And let’s go to our friend deck question. Our question is,
What is Brett excited to do?
What is Brett excited to do?
Now, friends, many of us love to help the people around us.
That’s a good thing.
But sometimes,
Even though you’re trying to help, problems can come up.
Right? Maybe you feel like you’re trying to help,
but other people don’t want or don’t need your help.
Or sometimes, maybe two or three people want you to help them
at the same time. Yeah.
Then you need to make a decision: What can you do?
Well, we will think about that as we watch our story today,
and we will learn some great new key words.
Here’s Sonya to tell us about them.
Bret
Packing all these boxes was a lot of work.
"I’m excited to move into my new apartment" (形容詞 excited
Philip
Bret
Bring your truck."
Philip
"Hey there, friend."
Mia
Philip
"Ugh, you’ve worked hard.
You’re almost done," says Philip as he looks around. He’s at his friend Brett’s house.
Almost packing all these boxes was a lot of work.
"I’m excited to move into my new apartment."
"That’s great. Do you need help packing up these last few things?"
"No, that’s all right. When I move this afternoon,
you can help. I’ll really need help then."
So, at the beginning of our story,
We start to learn about our characters.
We have Philip and Brett, right?
They are friends, and Philip tells Brett, "You worked hard.
You’re almost done."
Sounds like Bret has been spending a lot of time
packing his things,
because he’s going to move. Yeah,
you have to pack your things into boxes.
Often when you’re going to move to a new
place, you pack or put those things away in those boxes.
Bret says, "Almost."
He is not completely done.
He says, "Packing these boxes was a lot of work." Well,
It might also be a lot of work to find or find an answer.
The question was, what is
Brett excited to do?
He is excited to move into his new apartment. Yes,
It is exciting when you move to a new place. If you are excited,
It means you feel happy and you look forward to something
that will happen. Exactly. Well,
Philip says, "That’s great,"
and asks, "Do you need help packing up these last few things?"
Sonia, can you help us with the phrase pack up?
Philip 問 Brett,
"你需要我幫你打包最後這幾樣東西嗎?"
"Do you need help packing up these last few things?"
Philip asks.
Finish up your morning chores after breakfast
或是 cover up the food before you put it in the fridge
Did you clean up your room?
Thank you, Sonia.
No, that’s all right. When I move this afternoon,
you can help." So, he needs Philip’s help
in the afternoon, not now. Yeah,
he will really need help then. Well,
We will find out how in just a moment.
Let’s keep watching.
"Sure, I’ll be back here at 2 o’clock."
Philip tells Brett, "That would be great, thanks.
Bring your truck, that will be a big help."
"I will."
He leaves at 12:30 to do some errands. When he is downtown,
someone calls out,
"Hey there, friend."
"Oh hi, Mia."
"How are you?"
"Not very good.
My grandma is having serious health problems,
and I’m worried."
We hear that Philip will be happy to help Brett in the afternoon.
He’s going to come back at two o’clock.
Brett is very thankful.
He says, "That would be great, thanks,"
and he reminds Philip to bring his truck
because he needs
Philip’s big truck to carry his things.
A truck is like a big car,
but it can fit a lot more stuff.
It’s mostly for moving things
and not just people.
And people who have trucks are often helping people move, right?
Well,
Philip tells Brett that he will bring his truck in the afternoon,
and Philip leaves around 12:30 p.m. to do some errands. An errand
is something that you need to do,
maybe going to the post office,
getting groceries, or going to the bank.
When he is downtown,
he hears someone call out, and when you’re calling out,
you hear someone calling you loudly.
This person says, "Hey there, friend."
Yes, he hears one of his friends calling out. It’s his friend
Mia, and he says, "Hi Mia.
How are you?"
Well,
Mia’s not doing very well.
She tells Philip that
her grandma is having serious health problems.
If you have serious health problems,
it means your body is not doing too well.
Maybe you feel really sick
or something bad happened to you, right?
Or you could be really hurt as well. Well,
Mia is worried, of course, about her grandma.
So that’s what she is thinking about today.
Your grandma is your mother’s mother or your father’s mother.
In English, we use the same word.
Exactly. So, Philip has some different friends around him
that all kind of need help.
Brett needs help moving,
especially with the truck. And Mia, well,
we’re not sure how she needs help,
but she’s not doing so well.
Listen carefully to what happens next.
Now,
it’s time for us to take a break. We’ll be right back
Talking English the way...
Welcome back to the show, everyone.
This story makes me think back to all the times
when I have needed to move. Now,
there are a couple of ways to do that.
You can spend a lot of money
and have a moving company help you, or ask your friends, right?
You can invite people to your home or your apartment,
and everyone can help you pack your things.
But if you are polite,
you’ll want to do
something nice for them in exchange.
Maybe treat them to some good food. Let’s continue our story.
"Oh no, I’m so sorry,"
Philip tells Mia.
"I really want to go and see her,
but she lives an hour away,
and I have no car. The bus doesn’t go to her town,
neither does the train. Can’t a friend give you a ride?"
"I asked, everyone is busy."
"I can take you."
"Oh wait, let me think." What should Philip do?
Philip should help Brett.
He said yes to Brett first.
Philip should help Mia; her problem is more serious.
Your choice. What would you do?
While Philip is listening to what
Mia is sharing with him, he feels bad for her, right?
So he says, "Oh no."
You can say this when you feel bad or sad about something.
He says, "I’m so sorry."
And Mia continues and tells Philip what she wants to do.
Yeah, she really wants to go and see her—her is Mia’s grandmother—
but her grandmother lives an hour away,
and she doesn’t have a car. Yes,
in the U.S.,
we will often say something is an hour away or 15 minutes away,
right?
It means it takes one hour to get there when you drive.
And Mia says, "I have no car."
Let’s go to Sonya for have no or don’t have.
But she lived an hour away and I have no car. 句中
"I have no car."
I don’t have a car."
"I don’t have any money on me." 改為 "I have no money on me."
或是 "Tom doesn’t have any friends." 改為 "Tom has no friends."
"They don’t have a plan." 改為 "They have no plan."
Thank you, Sonia.
We also find out that the bus doesn’t go to where
Mia’s grandmother is living,
neither does the train.
So she can’t use any of these forms of transportation.
How can she get to her grandmother?
Philip asks, "Can’t a friend give you a ride?"
"Right, can someone drive you there?"
Mia tells us that she asked, but everyone is busy.
"Everyone is busy."
None of the people she asked can drive her to her grandmother.
"Oh no!"
"They don’t have free time."
"Everyone is busy" is also today’s calendar phrase.

"Everyone is busy."
"Hey, who can help me?"
"Nobody."
"Everyone is busy."
"I need some help with this."
"Everyone is busy."
"I can’t do this by myself."
"Everyone is busy."
"Please, can someone help me eat this pizza?"
"Oh well,
everyone can, we’re never too busy for pizza."
"I’m sure, yeah."
"Everyone is busy."
"Everyone is busy."

Well, Philip says, "I can take you." He can take
Mia to see Mia’s grandmother.
He says,
but then he remembers that he said something to Brett, yeah.
He says, "Oh, wait,
let me think," because he already agreed to help someone else.
He can’t do two things at the same time, right?
If you tell someone to wait, it
means you want them to hold on and stop
while you think.
Yeah, to not do anything for just a moment,
you need some time.
Sometimes if people ask you a question
and you don’t know the answer yet,
it’s okay to think for a little bit.
You might say, "Wait a moment," right?
Well, what would you do
if you were Philip? Think about that
as we go and review today’s keywords.
Here’s your first keyword for today:
Pack, pack.
Did you pack your bag yet?
Excited, excited. We’re really excited about the trip.
Truck, truck.
Paul’s truck can carry half a ton.
Call out, call out.
Did you hear me call out to you?
Wait, wait.
Please wait a few minutes, friends.
Those are your keywords for today.
You don’t need to wait. Keep practicing them, and now
it’s your turn.
The words for today are packed, excited, truck, called out, and waiting.
Now it’s your turn to use them in a sentence.
First, is he excited about meeting new people?
You got it! Is he excited about meeting new people?
Josh, when he saw a snake.
Correct! Josh called out when he saw a snake.
Next, Mario
packed some snacks for his hike.
Great job! Mario packed some snacks for his hike.
Next, let’s use my truck to move the chairs.
You got it! Let’s use my truck to move the chairs.
Last one,
we’re still waiting for Jim.
Good answer! We’re still waiting for Jim.
Great job, everyone! I’ll see you tomorrow for your turn.
Oh, you’ve worked hard.
You’re almost done,
says Philip as he looks around.
He’s at his friend
Brett’s house.
"Almost. Packing all these boxes was a lot of work."
"I’m excited to move into my new apartment."
"That’s great! Do you need help packing up these last few things?"
"No, that’s all right. When I move this afternoon,
you can help. I’ll really need help then."
"Sure, I’ll be back here at 2 o’clock,"
Philip tells Brett.
"That would be great, thanks.
Bring your truck. That will be a big help."
"I will."
He leaves at 12:30 to do some errands.
When he is downtown,
someone calls out,
"Hey there, friend."
"Oh, hi Mia. How are you?"
"Not very good.
My grandma is having serious health problems, and I’m worried."
"Oh no, I’m so sorry,"
Philip tells Mia.
"I really want to go and see her,
but she lives an hour away,
and I have no car. The bus doesn’t go to her town.
Neither does the train. Can’t a friend give you a ride?"
"I asked. Everyone is busy."
"I can take you. Oh, wait, let me think. What should
Philip do?"
One, two, let’s review. Today’s story was about three people: Brett,
Philip, and Mia. In the story,
Philip has a very hard decision to make.
That’s right.
Should he help Brett move into his new apartment,
or should he take Mia to visit her sick grandmother?
It’s a very hard decision
because both Brett and Mia are good friends,
and both of them need his help at the same time. So, David,
what would you do
if you were Philip?
If I were Philip,
I would ask myself who needs help more: Brett or Mia?
I think Mia needs help more. Yes.
But he already promised to help Brett.
This is a difficult choice. What should Philip do?
I’m not sure. What about you?
What would you do?
Friends, let’s review with some questions. Here’s the first one:
What does Philip need to bring to help Brett?
We found the answer in part two:
He needs to bring his truck.
Here’s your second question:
When do you help your friends?
When do you help your friends?
Let’s hear what our friends have to share:
When do I help my friends?
Well, whenever they need my help,
but the problem is they don’t usually ask,
so I make sure that I check in with them
and ask, "How are you? Do you need anything?
Do you need my help?" What about you?
When do you help your friends?
When do I help my friends?
Well, I try to help when they need help,
and when they ask me,
if I’m not busy and I know how to help them,
I’m happy to help. Hey,
call me anytime. Well,
especially if you have extra pizza and you need my help eating it.
When do I help my friends?
I help my friends
all the time. That’s my job. When they ask for help,
I am there. If there is something broken,
I fix it. If they need a ride to work,
I will help them by driving them there.
If somebody wants to know how to do something,
I will help them, and guess what? You don’t need to be my friend
either. I can help anyone.
When do I help my friends?
I like to help my friends when they need to move.
I can carry boxes. Oh,
I also like to help my friends
watch their pets when they go on vacation.
I like to help my friends.
When do I help my friends? Well,
if one of my friends has an accident and goes to the hospital
and needs some time to rest,
I like to help them by cooking some food,
bringing it to their house,
and maybe even helping them tidy up their house
while they’re healing.
Thanks for those answers, friends. It’s always good to help,
but make sure you’re smart about how you do it. Well,
join us again tomorrow for a brand new lesson. That’s right,
here on Let’s Talk in English.
Goodbye!
