【Golden Words from Grand Master Sheng-Yen Lu】 His Holiness Living Buddha Sheng-Yen Lu Explained the Definition of 『Dasabala of Buddha』?

Dasabala of Buddha (The ten powers/abilities of Buddha):

1. The ability identify what is right and what is wrong.

2. The ability to understand four stages of dhyana and eight stages of samadhi (concentrations), trayah samadhayah (tri-samadhi) and etc. All stages of dhayana, jhana and samadhi.

3. The ability to understand the karma of every being, past, present and future.

4. The ability to know the aptitude, capabilities, powers and faculties of all beings.

5. The ability to know all the desires or wishes of all beings.

6. The ability to understand the fundamental nature of all existence of all beings.

7. The ability to understand the capabilities of all beings in every realm.

8. The ability to understand own destiny/fate, and also understand other's destiny/fate.

9. The ability to know the dharmadhatu (dharma realm) that sentient beings would be reborn in.

10. Understand how to have troubles to be perished totally, how to make the troubles of sentient beings to perish.

1. 辨別有無道理的能力。

2. 明白四禪八定,三三昧等禪定之力。

3. 明白業因及果報的能力。

4. 知一切眾生的根器的能力。

5. 知一切眾生願望的能力。

6. 了解一切眾生之諸法本性的能力。

7. 了解一切眾生在各境界的能力。

8. 了解自己的宿命,也了解他人的宿命。

9. 知一切眾生往生何法界的能力。

10. 明暸如何才能煩惱滅盡,如何使眾生煩惱滅盡。
