１９６８年，美國歌手琳達．朗絲黛（Linda Ronstadt）離開小石馬樂團（The Stone Poneys）．

１９６９年３月，在Capital唱片公司旗下發行首張大諜［Hand Sown…Home Grown］

樂風從民謠轉向鄉村與搖滾．

１９７３年 ，琳達轉到Asylum唱片,

秋天發行第四張大碟［Don’t Cry Now／現在別哭］, 

製作人為John David Souther，John Boylan，與首度合作的英國音樂人彼得艾雪（Peter Asher）．

大碟獲得普遍好評.

《告示牌》描述為「新鮮且具有反思性」。他們發現朗絲黛的聲音“自信”，並喚起與Joan Baez相似的品質。
