２００６年，美國迪斯可女王唐娜桑瑪（Donna Summer）與SONY BMG旗下子公司Burgundy簽約

花了兩年時間籌備／灌錄新專輯．

２００８年５月, ５９歲半的桑瑪終於發行第１７張大碟［Crayons／蠟筆］.

距上張全新創作錄音室專輯［Mistaken Identity］將近１７年, 

距上張新內容的大碟［Christmas Spirit］則達１３年半

製作人包括Nathan DiGesare, Toby Gad, Jamie Houston, Greg Kurstin, Lester Mendez, Sebastian Morton, J.R. Rotem,

唐娜參與大碟１２首歌創作　樂評大致正面．

［Crayons／蠟筆］登上Billboard專輯榜＃１７　副榜－R&B榜＃５,

皆為桑瑪在１９８３年［She Works Hard for the Money］（Pop#9, R&B#5）後取得最高名次．

２００８年３月，唐娜推出大碟首支宣傳單曲［Im a Fire／我是一把火］

由桑瑪，Sebastian Morton， Al Kasha合寫，

Sebastian Morton製作成一首電子流行／House／NRG ／新迪斯可（nu-disco），

節奏輕快穩定，唐娜的寬厚嗓音全是遊刃有餘．

《紐約時報》的Ben Ratliff稱讚［Im a Fire］在專輯中「成為了承諾的燈塔」。 “你可能會在這首歌中迷失自己，很難不想像整張專輯都是這樣，有更明確的方向。”
