旋律悅耳，凱倫的嗓音溫柔和煦，宛如春風一般．

這首歌最初的目的只是保留在專輯中，然而，當Lynn Anderson的鄉村樂版本於１９７３年中期發行時獲得成功時（Pop#74, Country#2），

木匠對他們一開始就沒有將［Top of the World］作為單曲發行感到不安。

卡本特版後來於１９７３年 ９月１７日作為單曲發行。

由於凱倫對原版不太滿意，因此為單曲版重新錄製她的主唱。

新版本出現在兩人的首張精選合輯［The Singles: 1969-1973］．

［Top of the World］登上美國單曲榜后座，為其第二首冠軍（1974年度#39）
