My Favorite Chinese Contemporary Poems III
Mis poemas contemporaneos chinos preferidos III
Selected and translated by Claire Wang-Lee
1-Zen Maurus Young
Sit alone by the pond
and watch the fish swim
is zen.
Lie under a tree
and hear the cicada sing
is zen.
Write a poem
and send it to you
is zen.
1-Zen Mauro Young
Sentarse solo al lado del estanque
y ver los peces nadan
es el zen.
Echarse bajo un árbol
y escuchar el canto de la cigarra
es el zen.
Escribir un poema
y enviarlo a usted
es el zen.
2- I Refuse the Wind Beita
I am a cloud
exposed in all eyes.
I'd rather struck by thunder,
and burned by lightening,
or pierced by the poisonous sun ray.
I'd rather fall down like raindrops.
I refuse the wind.
I am a tree
growing by the roadside.
I'd rather my limbs be cut down,
my roots be pulled,
my fruit be taken,
my body be thrown on a pile of fire.
I refuse the wind.
I'd rather be scattered by the hurricane.
I refuse the wind.
3-
Mother's Day 2014 the Netherlands Chi Lian Zi
The moon came above my head,
carrying several pieces of helpless clouds.
"Please come down and talk to me," I said,
"How have you been all these years?"
You said nothing
and walked away slowly from my dream,
pulling tighter the silk thread of endless missing you.
3-
Has dicho nada
4-Lay Over for My mother Michelle Mitchell Foust
Still the ghost cauliflower
in the sky, during the traffic
hours ago, and now above
the mother and her two girl children
and her red radio
out in the country, their
walking toward the tree line,
cauliflower sinking into smoke.
4-Parada para mi madre Michelle Mitchell Foust
Aún así, la coliflor fantasma
en el cielo, durante el tránsito
Hace horas, y ahora encima
la madre y sus dos niñas
y su radio rojo
en el campo, su
caminata hacia la línea de árboles,
la coliflor se hunde en el humo.
5-White Sage Claire Wang-Lee
It’s the grace of limestone
A thousand-feet- cliff fragrance
Handed over from the wrought iron fence
A story to be told only to one
Not longer than five lines.
5-Salva blanca Claire Wang-Lee
