It has passed lunar mid-Autumn by now, and cooler weather will become a climate nomality, especially in mornings and evenings. For me, the challege to accommodate myself to the change has just begun. This morning, not long after I got up from bed I started to give violent sneeze several times, one after another. Instantly, as usual, the running nose began, and then I rushed to find tissues. Its my typical reaction to the cool air in the mornings throughout late autumn and whole winter in Taiwan. I know the symptom is due to some kind of nasal allergy; no matter how I prevent it from occurring, it has been a recurring "illness" to me, an unpleasant daily problem in the winters. But, rarely have the sneezes and running noses caught me serious colds; I have been pretty lucky. I guess everyone is liable to catch various allergies according to ones constitution. For example, hay fever is a threat to average people in America, but when I was working in L.A. and NYC during mid 80s and 90s respectively, I was totally immune to that allergy. After all, any kind of allergies may bring you trouble; therefore, all we can do is to do a daily regimen of exercise as to get oureselves into shape.
