Toronto Raptors beat Golden States Warriors in the game six of 2018-19 NBA final and acquired their first title ever last evening. Congratulations, the city of Toronto, We The North! Though I am a "half" resident of Bay Area, I just gave my lukewarm support towards Warriors in the final, especially when my favorite star Kevin Durant risked the danger of being injured again to play in game five and eventually suffered a rupture in his Achilles after an outstanding performance of his in ten minutes. I started to admire that deadpan Kawhi Leonard, the Toronto forward who had always kept a straight-faced apperance on court, no ecstacy nor gloom all the time when he was playing. He is an excellent defender, too. I remember once I watched the scene that he stole twice in a row out of the dribbling Jeremy Lin a regular season game between San Antonio Spurs and Huston Rockets. (But they are teammates to each other now.) PS I have attachment to the Warriors home court: Oracle Stadium. I have been there to watch several games before, but the club will move to a new stadium next season. So Warriors lost their last game that had ever played in Oracle. I have an even deeper attachment to Toronto also, for my two younger brothers live there, my parents are buried there as well. |
