Last evening China badminton team made a clean sweep 3-0 over her major rival Japan to win her 11th championship in Sudirman cup 2019.  The biennial tournament, one of the important natioal group contests, was founded in 1989 and China has won the title 11 times out of 16.  The matches are decided by winng 3 games of five: men/women singles, men/women doubles, and a mix double.  (BTW, you can watch the recorded games on Youtube.)

Since her enveloping all Olympic gold medals in London 2012, Chinese players have gone a little slide in international rankings.  The comeback this time in Sudirman cup may be a bright sign of success to be shone in Tokyo 2020.  Go China!

FYI, Chinese Taipei players, including that invincible Dai Ziyin, acquitted themselves pretty well in the tournament and advanced to quarter-final, but not good enough.  Keep in excellent shape, Dai, and see you in Tokyo, 2020.
