Now it is Christmas Eve in Taiwan.  I would like to share with you a moving film of 1957, "All Mine To Give", as a Christmas gift.  Reputedly, the film is deemed as the prototype of "星星知我心", a popular TV drama series of 60s in Taiwan.  ( But I have never watched it before.)

The plot of the film came to a climax when the eldest brother among a bevy of six orphans, who were given birth to a family of Irish immigrants to New England in 18th century, had to give his siblings away to different adopting families on one Christmas Day after their parents died one after another. (Died of diphtheria白喉 and typhoid傷寒, respectively)  The boy  was just twelve years old, so you can imagine how young were his brothers and sisters.  How about himself?  He decided to support himself by his own labor as a logger, the job his father used to do for living.  Will the movie reduce viewers to tears?  Yes, it will indeed.
