這是他們首張沒有吉他手Terry Kath（１９７８年１月因槍傷死亡）參與的專輯

也是首次沒有以數字為名的大碟

［Hot Streets］由芝加哥與Phil Ramone共同製作

首度嘗試時興的迪斯可曲風, 對樂團來說是新時期的開始

但樂評卻好壞參半

第一主打為１０月發行的［Alive Again／再度有生氣］

由James Pankow譜寫

由Peter Cetera＆Donnie Dacus合唱

Phil Ramone＆芝加哥將其製作成一首融合迪斯可的舞曲搖滾　節拍輕快討好

對樂團來說是新嘗試, 但日後卻被嘲笑

［Alive Again］登上Billboard單曲榜＃１４　副榜－Easy Listening＃３９

加拿大＃１１

［Hot Streets］登上Billboard專輯榜＃１２　賣出１００萬張  拿到白金唱片

雖然成績不差, 卻是芝加哥自首張大碟後未入Top１０的專輯

接下來芝加哥事業進入低潮, 直到１９８２年［Chicago 16］才東山再起
