| 3月31日著名物理學家霍金（Stephen Hawking）下葬，在霍金的傳記電影《The Theory of Everything》裡扮演他的演員瑞德曼（Eddie Redmayne）在葬禮裡唸了基督教《舊約傳道書》（Book of Ecclesiastes）的一段文字， 我猜瑞德曼可能是從霍金名著的書名《A Brief History of Time》得來的靈感，雖然兩者都談到「time」不過意思不同，霍金不信神，但是他的信念和今日的世局卻讓人感覺這段文字做悼文很洽當：
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. 我也不是信徒，但是對這段文字有深刻印象，因為那也是一首美國流行老歌《Turn! Turn! Turn!》的歌詞，原作者是民歌手西格（Pete Seeger），另一位民歌手柯琳絲（Judy Collins）翻唱並加上副題「To Everything There is a Season」，成為國際熱門歌曲的是《飛鳥樂團》（The Byrds）的1965年版．歌詞幾乎完全抄自《舊約傳道書》，因為適切的反映60年代的世局，當年廣受歡迎，令人傷感的是它仍然適用於今日的世局，正是「讀史早知今日事，看花猶是去年人」（節自歷史學家陳寅恪《吳氏園海棠其二》）． |
