Weekly gathering on September 26, 2016

Little Jenny hosted the gathering with the theme “Happy Teacher’s Day.” Here was the agenda.

Section 1      Singing with Heaven’s fancy microphone and karaoke APP

1. Jenny Chou: Count on Me

2. Sharow sang the original lyrics of If (如果) first, and then sang a revised version of this song to respond to today’s theme.

3. Shirley / Olga: Those were the days.

4. Heaven: Yesterday

5. Tom / Sharow: Below the Silver Moonlight (在那銀色月光下)

Section 2      Sharing on unforgettable teacher

1. Tammy remembered her first teacher to instruct her to speak standard Mandarin without accent.

2. Little Jenny talked about her English teacher, also her home room teacher, when she was a 7^th grader.  The teacher taught her all the basics of English while she knew little in English.

3. Robert mentioned the magazine Studio Classroom as a good teacher. He has subscribed to it for over 40 years.

Section 3       The history of English Tour Guide Club in BTCC (Beitou Community College) - a skit directed by Little Jenny and played by 2 Jenny’s, Heaven, Sherry, Yvonne, Sharow, Andy and Bob. This play showed our club’s history in a very fun way.

1. First introduced the 4 originators: Tang, Rosie, Michelle, and Tom.

2. showed how this club went through the difficult time (without funding from BTCC).

3. Improved members’ English proficiency through Studying Studio Classroom and tour guiding activities.

4. Introduced the current- and ex-members by short mimic show.

5. Turned to a new page from last semester. 4 co-hosts led the class through different activities.

Everybody sang and danced along with the Snoopy MV “I feel better when I’m dancing” as a happy ending.
