俗話說的好「千里之行，始於足下」。寫好一篇英文學術論文，當然也要先學會基本的英文寫作段落架構，因為英語學術寫作中的基本溝通元素其實不是句子，而是被視為言談基本單位的段落（basic unit in discourse, the basic element of communication in English academic writing）（Gugin, 2014）。
今天CAL要帶大家來認識寫作教學中很有名的「漢堡模型」（Hamburger Model）架構：
 什麼是漢堡模型？（以下以單一段落為例） 漢堡模型就是將段落的架構分成三部分，分別是主題句（Topic Sentence）、三句支持句（Supporting Details）、結論句（Concluding Sentence）（Reid, 1994；Parsons, 2001）。 為什麼要用漢堡模型練習寫作？漢堡模型的三部分架構可以作為作文篇章架構的基礎，將段落三部分擴寫成文章的三部分：介紹（Introduction）、內文（Body）、結論（Conclusion）。 為什麼要有三句支持句？三句支持句就像是漢堡中的三層料──生菜、起司、肉排，在寫五段式作文時，漢堡段落中的三句支持句就可分別擴寫成一段內文段落（Body Paragraph）。 漢堡段落和五段式作文有何差異？漢堡段落和五段式作文的架構基本類似，但最大的差別就在於內容的深度。漢堡段落時提出的三個事實、原因、範例僅能簡略的描述，但寫成一篇作文時，由於篇幅變長，就能針對提出的事實、原因、範例進行更深入的探討。認識了漢堡模型後，我們來看看一篇小編撰寫的範例吧！

 Hamburgers are the best food in the world for me.[Supporting Detail 1]
First, hamburgers are not expensive. Students like me can have a hamburger without worrying about money.[Supporting Detail 2]
Second, hamburgers are convenient. I can just grab a hamburger and eat it in a rush.[Supporting Detail 3]
Last, hamburgers are a good source of nutrients. A hamburger contains rich protein, iron, and vitamins.[Concluding Sentence]
