33. 故用兵之法：高陵勿向，背丘勿逆。

以下是帶兵作戰的法則：不可仰攻駐紮在高地的部隊，不可迎擊背靠丘陵的敵人。

The rule of warfare includes: not to attack the troop in the highlands, not to fight the enemy with hills behind him.


34. 佯北勿從，銳卒勿攻。

不要追擊佯裝後退的敵軍，不要跟士氣正盛的敵人正面交戰。

Not to pursue soldiers who pose to retreat, not to fight the enemy whose spirit is on high.


35. 餌兵勿食，歸師勿遏。

不可吞食敵人拋出的誘餌，不要截擊正在撤退回鄉的殘部。

Not to take allurements offered by your opponent, not to interfere with residual forces in retreat.


36. 圍師遺闕，窮寇勿迫。

圍攻敵人時要留缺口(讓他們逃離)，不要窮追逃跑的敗軍。

When besieging your enemy, leave a corner open (allow him to evacuate). Do not push defeated yet desperate soldiers too hard.


37.此用兵之法也。

這些都是帶兵打戰的基本原則。

All these are the rule of warfare.
