Autumn is setting in, and you’re beginning to crave your favourite comfort foods. Cinnamon laced apple pie is just about the most comforting fall dessert you can think of,
besides of course everything pumpkin. Which is not quite a tradition where I live, but Apple Pie is always a favourite. And while I don’t want to indulge in all the extra
calories, there is a way I can have my pie and eat it too ! A healthier version ofcourse, as most of my recipes these days. So I wouldn’t call this a dessert but, a beautiful
twist on making my everyday oats taste like apple pie. A tad bit fancier and yet very comforting Duct type air conditioner.
Ingredients
3/4 Cup Steel Cut Rolled Oats
1 1/2 cup water
1/2 cup plant based milk
1 small apple chopped
1/4 cup Walnuts chopped
1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder
1 vanilla pod
2 Star Anise
1 tbsp Coconut / Jaggery Sugar
In a sauce pan place the chopped apple, water, star anise and split vanilla pod.
Gently heat allowing the spices to realise their flavours and apple to soften.
Once the apples have softened a little, add the oats, walnuts and cinnamon powder.
Cook for 2 minutes, adding the plant milk toward the end. If it gets too thick add little water or milk, whatever you like handmade market.
Turn off the heat, mix in the sugar and pour out in a bowl.
Garnish with some apple slices, cinnamon powder and a sprinkle of the sugar.
Serve Immediately start company in hong kong.
