高中時家裡剛買錄放影機，還記得整個暑假就泡在家裡看電影。那一段時間看了不少老電影，有些內容早已不復記憶，但音樂卻深印腦海裡。

《再見女郎》這部電影(《The Goodbye Girl》，1977)。改編同名舞台劇，描述窮困潦倒的紐約演員Richard Dreyfuss(因本片拿下奧斯卡最佳男主角)，巧合地和單親媽媽Marsha Mason住在同一屋簷下。Marsha因為常被男人拋棄，所以自嘲是「再見女郎」。

兩人因背景與個性的差異衝突不斷，但最後卻擦出火花。 當Richard 必須離開紐約去參加電影演出時，女主角認為自己再一次變成「再見女郎」，男主角卻與之前的男人不一樣地站在滂沱大雨的街頭，對她訴說回來廝守的決心。

這麼多年來，這首歌一直在我腦海中飄蕩著未曾忘記，但卻未曾在任何一個場合再次聽到。網路上找了數次，卻只有翻唱的口水歌，不論好不好聽，都沒有原唱麵包合唱團David Gates的味道，這次好不容易終於讓我在youtube找到了。

十五歲看這部電影，對當時的我來說只是一部老片；現在再一次聽著歌詞回想起電影片段，感覺似乎多了許多...................
