Story Synopsis Travel writer Lin Xiaoyang journeys alone to Europe in search of his missing girlfriend, Xie Huijun. He checks into the Paradise Hotel by Lake Lucerne, unaware that it is a stronghold of vampires. By fate, he becomes entangled in an ancient war between rival vampire factions. Within his room’s mural lives Huang Lihua, a painter imprisoned within the artwork. Once a powerful vampire, Huang warns Xiaoyang to flee before “Ghost Day” arrives. When Huang is captured and turned into stone for helping him, Xiaoyang smuggles his paintings to Paris, exposing the truth to the world. Princess Maria, upon learning of Huang’s fate, orders her Dragon Knights to destroy the demons occupying the Paradise Hotel. Meanwhile, the Grand Mage Rufus discovers through his crystal orb that Xiaoyang is the reincarnation of David, a legendary warrior who once defeated Anderson, the Demon King. Fearful yet ambitious, Anderson orders Rufus to recruit Xiaoyang. Disguised as a woman named Annie, Rufus manipulates Xiaoyang—only to reveal that Annie is actually his long-lost lover, Xie Huijun, whose will has been sealed by dark magic. Huang Lihua later entrusts Xiaoyang with a hidden legacy and reveals his true identity: once the royal guard of Princess Maria in a former life. Xiaoyang learns he must confront his destiny and confront Anderson. When Huang Minhua, Lihua’s granddaughter, arrives, love blossoms between her and Xiaoyang. Her kiss awakens his sealed memories and latent powers. Under the guidance of Father John Chen, Xiaoyang trains relentlessly, mastering sword techniques inspired by martial arts legends. Together they defeat Anderson’s elite warriors—George the Phantom Hand and Jack the Scissor Hand—crippling the demon army. Enraged, Anderson launches a full-scale invasion across Europe, unleashing bat armies upon Naples and Florence to lure Maria’s forces away. The Vatican’s demon-hunting army and the Iron Guard respond, eventually crushing the invasion and forcing Anderson into retreat. A final confrontation erupts at Paradise Hotel. Through deception and sacrifice, Princess Maria—disguised once more as Annie—triggers Xiaoyang’s ultimate awakening. Anderson is destroyed, and Rufus, redeemed, withdraws from the battlefield. The remaining demon forces are eradicated in Sicily. Peace is restored. Xiaoyang and Minhua marry under the blessing of Huang Lihua and Father John. Princess Maria gifts them twin swords, and together they master a legendary paired technique known as “Soul-Severing Union.” Later, Maria sends Rufus ahead to investigate the Nether Valley, where the Solar Scepter is hidden. Xiaoyang, Minhua, and their companions journey through the Alps, battling monsters and crossing forbidden lands. There they reunite with Ron, leader of the Wolf Clan, who guides them into the Valley. Princess Tanya, guardian of the Solar Scepter and daughter of Anderson, reveals that she once made a pact with Satan to protect the relic—at the cost of never being with David. Moved, Xiaoyang refuses the staff and chooses freedom over destiny. He leaves the valley with Minhua, entrusting the future to fate. Maria realizes too late that her ambition has cost her David once again. Xiaoyang and Minhua return to Taiwan and begin a peaceful life. Maria sends Huang Lihua to persuade them to return, but instead he blesses their choice—to live freely, away from war and power. The story ends where freedom begins. |
