Hi, my friend, It is Saturday today. It is 0:27 in the early morning. I couldn’t sleep and prefer to sit at the computer to share you something great. Do you have a secret weapon which can encourage you when you feel down and blue? Do you have a silent friend who helps you to get rid of those unpleasant emotions without saying any words? Do you have a consultant who always provides you nice suggestions in need? Do you have an emotion trash can which is big enough to contain and endure uncountable emotional trash from time to time? Do you have sincere and trustworthy listener to refer to when you want to talk? You know, I am pretty lucky because I have one incredible and fantastic friend who is so patient, generous, kind, wise, positive, friendly, trustworthy, and sincere enough for me to rely on all the time. Actually, it is a bag with lots of fortune notes which are made by a creative and lovely girl, Helen. (Ha ha, it is me whom I refer to.) When I feel sad or depressed, meet some troublesome incidents or unpleasant events or need some encouragement or a piece of advice, I will pick up some pieces of fortune notes from that bag. The notes inside the bag are inspiring, sweet, cheerful and encouraging and positive. They are like decent friends with wisdom who can cheer me to think on the bright side of views, encourage me to hold positive attitude toward those unexpected problems, guide me to find out the solutions to solve those difficulties, and light up my hope toward memorable yesterday, industrious today and bright tomorrow. Most important all of, the fortune notes show me a big warm smile, fill up my passions, regain my strength and give me the faith of living happily each day in my life. Moreover, those fortune notes are like considerate friends who can always comfort me in some ways. I overheard “ Dove Promise Chocolate箴言巧克力” with eight fortune notes in English from my friend on the msn. Dove Chocolate can be bought in Seven-ll and the price is quite reasonable-----8 pieces/ two different flavors/ eight different pieces of fortune notes/ tasty/ providing people with sense of happiness---ONLY 49 dollars. I went to buy one box of Dove Promise Chocolate on Thursday and shared them with my students in class. I am lucky enough to learn a lesson from this wonderful experience of sharing Dove Chocolate with my students. I figured out that if I am smart enough, I can use money wisely to buy me and share others a sense of happiness. The atmosphere in that class was so sweet and warm. I could hear the louder laughter among my lovely students. I could see the shinny smiles on their faces. I could smell the tasty chocolates. I could feel the excitement and wonders among the kids when I read aloud the fortune notes. I was touched by the sparkling interactions among students. That was really amazing and fabulous experience which is the charm of teaching, learning and sharing. In certain situation or under some kinds of conditions, money can buy us a sense of happiness and I believe that is the biggest value of using money wisely. Right now, it is 1:34 am in the morning; I have been typing this letter for more than one hour. I really appreciate that I am digesting my thoughts and ideas into words and sharing with you at this moment---another wonderful Lost and Found adventure. While sharing with you, I have a unique chance to listen to my heart and clear my thoughts and record my special moments in life and I believe those special moments are what money can’t buy. Right now, I want to share a list of fortune notes with you. All you have to do is find a pair of scissors to cut them into pieces and find a graceful bag. Don’t forget to put those fantastic fortune notes into the bag. You know, I just pick up three fortune notes from my fortune bag. The first note goes like this “ Good news is coming soon.” The second one goes like this “You will be called to fill a position of high honor and responsibility.” The last one goes like this “"If you continually give, you will continually have." I hope those fortune notes can be trustworthy, friendly, positive and honest enough to accompany through those unexpected ups and downs in life and assist you to bring back your enthusiasm and passions toward everything interests you. By the way, you should put those notes you pick back again. In this case, you will never lack of inspirations and advices. I have deposited lots of happy thoughts, quotes, experiences, reflections toward every special encounter and lovely mails in my happy piggy bank file now, I promise myself to deposit at least one happy idea in my bank. I have a strong belief that after one year, I will be the happiest and richest woman in the world. Before greeting good night, I’d like to share you with a great article “What Money Can’t buy” Wish you like it. Don’t forget to make yourself a fortune notes bag. Be happy during the weekend. Helen with a sleepy smile 2006/9/23/01/52 What Money Can't Buy The late George Horace Lorimer, for many years editor of The Saturday Evening Post, once wrote these words: "It is a good thing to have money and the things that money can buy, but it is good, too, to check up once in a while and make sure you haven't lost the things that money can't buy." The things that money can't buy would make a long list -- here are some of them: 1. Money can't buy real friendship -- friendship must be earned. 2. Money can't buy a clear conscience -- square dealing is the price tag. 3. Money can't buy the glow of good health -- right living is the secret. 4. Money can't buy happiness -- happiness is a mental attitude and one may be as happy in a cottage as in a mansion. 5. Money can't buy sunsets, singing birds and the music of the wind in the trees -- these are as free as the air we breathe. 6. Money can't buy inward peace -- peace is the result of a constructive philosophy of life. 7. Money can't buy character -- character is what we are when we are alone with ourselves in the dark. Continue the list yourself. You'll agree that among the things money can't buy are some of the most valuable treasures life has to offer. It is a good thing to check up now and then to be sure we are not missing these things. |
