1,001 Smiles -- Chockful of wit and wisdom, 1,001 Smiles is a colorfully illustrated compendium of all things happy. In this chunky anthology, the latest in our popular series, wry insights, age-old teachings, and a wealth of humorous offerings are organized by everyday topics such as creativity, change, love, and travel. Readers will find themselves smiling at both the absurdities of the world and their own foibles as simple truths are expressed in quirky ways, such as "There are only two lasting gifts you can give your children: One is roots, the other wings," or "If you have to borrow money, borrow it from a pessimist—they never expect it back." An ideal gift for anyone feeling blue, 1,001 Smiles is sure to elicit a grin, even on the toughest day.

It is a marvelous pocket book which is a gift from one of my friends. This book accompanies me during my bedtime. Lots of words of wisdom inspire me from time to time. I enjoy myself a lot thinking and pondering upon the meanings behind those words.

Here are some pieces I personally enjoy reading.

Children’s questions can open adult eyes to the wonders of the world-and teach you to be creative in your answers. When they ask things like “Why is it raining?” you can say that God is crying. But if they ask why, resist the temptation to answer, “Because you threw your orange juice all over the kitchen floor.”

“ What are good names for identical twin boys?”

Pete and Repeat.”

A little girl asked her mother for some money to give to the old lady in the park. The mother was touched by the little girl’s kindness and gave her the money she asked for. “Tell me,” said Mom, “why is she so poor? Is she not able to work?”

“Oh, yes,” replied the little girl. “She sells ice cream.”

Teacher: You missed school yesterday, didn’t you?

Pupil: Not very much, Miss.

“ Doctor, my hair’s falling out, and I wondered if you could give me something to keep it in?”

“ How about a paper bag?”

And here comes my favorite one-------

Everything is OK in the end.

If it’s not OK, it’s probably not the end.

Haha, I am searching for happy endings all the time in my entire life.
