"I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ" There was once a man who admired Jesus Christ deeply and followed many of His teachings. When the man was in South Africa, he considered becoming a Christian, attended a Christian church. However, he was escorted out because he was brown. This man was called Ghandi. The greatest indictment of the evil of racism was that in his hour of seeking, one of the greatest souls ever born to women was turned away with a racial slur. Ghandi said he had no problem with Christ, it was Christians that put him off. Back in the past, I didn't understand why some people got so sensitive and irritated when talking about the bible. Some fanatic ignorants would say because there are evil spirits in them that stirred their souls to react so drastically unusual. At that time, I couldn't understand the utter behavior of those who were hurt, but nowadays, I can sympathize with Ghandi what it was like when he said the words. |
