3 Good Spelling Habits

To learn the spelling of a word: pronounce it, study it and write it.

(1) Pronounce words carefully.

(2) Use a dictionary.

(3) Spell by syllables. A syllable is a word part that is pronounced as one uninterrupted sound.

Examples:

One syllable though, stairs

Two syllables Luck.y, re.gion

Three syllables min.i.mum, e.lev.en

Four syllables her.biv.o.rous, cou.ra.geous.ly
