文王的兒子武王，上行下效，也很孝順文王，

King Wu emulated his father, King Wen, by being filial too.

但是武王不敢做得比文王更孝順。

But he dared not outshine his father in this wise.

為什麼？不敢越矩。

因為名聲不敢超越過父親，這就是德性。

Why? Because King Wu was afraid his reputation

would surpass his father’s.

文王生病，武王都不敢寬衣解帶。

When King Wen was ill, virtuous King Wu always

stayed alert and vigilant.

He did not even have time to get undressed.

文王如果生病吃不下，武王也跟著吃不下，

If King Wen lost his appetite from illness,

King Wu was also unable to eat,

不是只有一天哦，而是有連續十二天，

the duration of which was not only one day,

but twelve days in a row.

直到文王身體好了，武王才恢復正常生活；

Only when King Wen regained his health did King Wu return to his normal life.

這就是我們要讚嘆文王的原因。

That is why we highly praise King Wen now.
